Calvin Kattar takes the headline role at UFC on ESPN this weekend.
Kattar battles Josh Emmett in the main event. The card takes place live on ESPN and ESPN+ from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
The featherweights headline with Donald Cerrone meeting Joe Lauzon in the co-main event. Other featured bouts include Kevin Holland vs. Tim Means and Julian Marquez vs. Gregory Rodrigues.
For Kattar, the 34-year-old will be looking to improve upon his 23-5 mark. That record includes three consecutive main event fights and four of his last five overall.
He is an even 2-2 in those four bouts, besting Giga Chikadze and Dan Ige around losses by decision to both Max Holloway and Zabit Magomedsharipov.
Kattar also holds wins over Jeremy Stephens, Ricardo Lamas and Shane Burgos since joining the UFC back in 2017.
For Emmett, this marks his first UFC main event. He enters having four in a row and six of his last seven. The lone setback was a knockout loss in 2018 to Jeremy Stephens.
Since that setback, Emmett has picked up wins over Ige, Burgos, Mirsad Bektic and Michael Johnson.
Kattar should be able to use his experience from five-round battles to withstand what is expected to be an early attack by Emmett and secure the decision.
