UFC Fight Night Results: Alexander Volkov Scores First Round KO

Alexander Volkov made a statement Saturday at UFC Fight Night.

Volkov earned a first round finish over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the main event. The event took place from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, airing live on ESPN+.

The heavyweight battle was scheduled for five rounds. But Volkov only needed two-plus minutes to earn the finish. The 33-year-old from Russia improved to 35-10 with the win.

Over his last six fights, Volkov has posted a 4-2 mark with finishes of Rozenstruik, Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris.

In the co-main, Movsar Evloev bested Dan Ige, earning a decision victory.

Lucas Almeida, Karine Silva, Ode Osbourne and Alonzo Menifield were among the main card winners. On the prelims, Karolina Kowalkiewicz topped the returning Felice Herrig with a second round submission.

Almeida and Michael Trizano were named “Fight of the Night” with Silva and Osbourne collecting “Performance of the Night” bonuses.

The UFC returns next Saturday with UFC 275 from Singapore as Glover Teixeira defends his light heavyweight title vs. Jiri Prochazka. Also, Valentina Shevchenko puts her flyweight belt on the line vs. Taila Santos.

Ode’ Osbourne defeats Zarrukh Adashev via knockout at 1:01 of the first round

Alonzo Menifield defeats Askar Mozharov via TKO (strikes) at 4:40 of the first round

Karolina Kowalkiewicz defeats Felice Herrig via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:01 of round two

Joe Solecki defeats Alex da Silva via majority decision (28-28, 28-27, 29-27)

Damon Jackson defeats Dan Argueta via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)

Benoit Saint Denis defeats Niklas Stolze via submission (rear naked choke) at 1:32 of round two

Tony Gravely defeats Johnny Munoz via TKO (strikes) at 1:08 of the first round

Jeff Molina defeats Zhalgas Zhumagulov via split decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)

Rinat Fakhretdinov defeats Andreas Michailidis via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27)

Erin Blanchfield defeats JJ Aldrich via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:38 of round two
