Hell In A Cell

On Sunday, June 3rd WWE will host the premium live event Hell In A Cell.T problems with building “Premium Live Events” around a gimmick match aside, the card is solid, and there will be a lot of fun matches. There are only six announced matches as of Friday evening, but I suspect WWE will add more following SmackDown. Look out for Riddle & Nakamura to challenge The Usos for the tag titles.

Let’s dive in, shall we?

Theory (c) vs. Mustafa Ali for the US Title

After sitting at home and demanding his release, Mustafa Ali returned to WWE as the woke-folk hero/Twitter blowhard we all love to challenge the ever-punchable Theory.

Ali goes up against fellow rising superstar Theory in a battle of two men the WWE would be wise to build around. The feud has featured a shit-stirring Miz as the two battled for the heart and soul of the US Title.

Both Ali & Theory are so good in the ring, and I think this match could be a dark horse match of the night contender.

Prediction: Theory wins via shenanigans. He needs the belt for a while longer to build up his bonafides.

Ezekial vs. Kevin Owens

Ezekial, who is definitely not Elias, is having an absolutely delightful feud with the increasingly unhinged Kevin Owens. I wonder how this all ends for Kevin Owens? Will he finally admit that Ezekiel is for sure not Elias?

Whatever happens, KO has a powerful- if not equally unhinged- ally in Becky Lynch.

Prediction: Elias wins, and Kevin Owens descends further into madness.

Lashley vs. Omos and MVP

I love that MVP is wrestling again. I don’t know how I feel about his feud, though it is nice to see the crowd get behind Lashley. Omos has proven himself capable in the ring, but he needs to wrestle in something other than slacks.

Prediction: Lashley wins and sets his eyes on the title picture again.

Judgement Day (Edge, Damien Priest, and Rhea Ripley) vs. AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan

I love this feud, but I do wonder where this match leads. Edge has teased the growth of his faction for so long that someone new has to join sooner rather than later, right?

The most important part of this match is that Liv Morgan looks like a million bucks. She is the next big female star, and WWE has to strike with her while the iron is hot. Liv has the potential to be the most prominent female star WWE has had in a decade, bigger than the Four Horsewoman. Will I look back on this prediction with regret? Yea probably.

Prediction: Finn Balor returns to his demon ways and betrays Styles & Morgan. Liv Morgan continues her push to become WWE’s top female babyface.

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Asuka vs. Becky Lynch

This is a great chance to make Bianca a robust and long-term champion. I hope WWE gives her that opportunity. However, they need to do something with Becky and a returning Asuka. Regardless, This will be a hard-hitting match with three of the best workers in the company.

Prediction: Becky squeaks out a win. But don’t be surprised if Asuka surprises.

Main Event: Seth Rollins vs. Cody Rhodes inside Hell In A Cell

WWE has to let them bleed in this one. This animosity between Seth & Cody is too personal, and these guys are too good not to allow some blood and guts to get out there. I don’t want them falling off the cage, either. This match doesn’t need that gimmick. Just brutality inside the cell.

Rollins and Rhodes are at the pinnacle of their skills as wrestlers. This will be the match of the night! I hope.

Prediction: Rhodes finishes this feud, but it’s HIAC, so expect shenanigans, handcuffs, and a surprise return.
