Hell In A Cell

Now that we are past Hell In A Cell, it is time to consider the next steps for WWE. There are a lot of questions about Cody Rhodes and his future. The biggest “mid-major” Premium Live Event of the year, Money in the Bank takes place July 2nd from Las Vegas. With the fallout from HIAC, how will the MITB show proceed? Is there an opponent lined up for Roman Reigns? What about other titles?

Let’s break down five big questions.

How Long Will Cody Be Out?

As we reported last night, pectoral tears generally take about 6 months to a year to heal. Reports indicate that Cody is getting surgery Thursday, June 9th. The timetable means that Rhodes will likely be out until next year’s Royal Rumble, making him the prohibitive favorite to win and go on to the main event WrestleMania in Los Angeles.

Who Will Challenge Roman Reigns Next?

Roman Reigns has taken some time off as of late to pursue other projects in Hollywood. He has not defended the Unified title at the last two PLEs. Judging from the current feud of the Usos, it would seem logical that either Shinsuke Nakamura or Riddle will challenge Reigns next, possibly at Money In The Bank.

Next Challenge For Bianca Belair?

Bianca dispatched Becky Lynch & Asuka in a match that would have been the bout of the night if not for the HIAC main event. While Lynch is probably still in contention, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Alexa Bliss make a run for gold, as she is on an undefeated streak.

Who will win Money In The Bank?

And of course, the big question: who will win the Money in the Bank? There will be qualifying matches in the next few weeks to determine participants, but here are my guesses for men’s and women’s participants.

Men:

  • Finn Balor
  • Damien Priest
  • Mustafa Ali
  • Ciampa
  • MadCap
  • Happy Corbin

Women:

  • Carmella
  • DouDrop
  • Nikki A.S.H.
  • Liv Morgan
  • Shotzi

I don’t have any strong predictions on winners, but I have to imagine Liv Morgan and Mustafa Ali are big favorites.
