Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong Says ‘F*** America’ As He Announces Plans To Renounce U.S. Citizenship

Billie Joe Armstrong, the frontman of the band Green Day, revealed on Friday night that he will be “renouncing his citizenship” because of the overturn of Roe v. Wade, adding “f*** America.”

We must warn you that the video below includes profanity.

‘F*** America’

“There’s too much f***ing stupid in the world,” Armstrong told the audience during a concert in London, according to Daily Mail. He went on to say that he will be moving to the United Kingdom, leading them to applaud.

“F**k America. I’m f***ing renouncing my citizenship. I’m f**king coming here,” Armstrong continued. “There’s just too much f***ing stupid in the world to go back to that miserable f***ing excuse for a country. Oh, I’m not kidding, you’re going to get a lot of me in the coming days.”

This came hours after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the Supreme Court on Friday, restoring the ability of states to ban abortion.

Twenty-six states are either certainly or likely to ban abortion in the wake of this ruling. While conservatives are happy that the issue of abortion will now be up to the states, Democrats have been melting down over it, saying that women will now have “fewer rights than their grandmothers.”

Armstrong Loves Bashing America

This is far from the first time that Armstrong has bashed America. Back in 2004, his band’s song “American Idiot” took shots at the post-9/11 media landscape in the U.S.

“Don’t wanna be an American idiot / One nation controlled by the media,” Armstrong can be heard singing in this song. “Information age of hysteria / It’s calling out to idiot America.”

Check out that song for yourself below.

While performing the Green Day song “Bang Bang” at the 2016 American Music Awards, Armstrong and his bandmates broke into a fiery chant that attacked the election of then-President Donald Trump.

“No Trump, No KKK, No fascist USA,” Green Day sang, according to USA Today

Other Singers Sound Off

Other performers have bashed the overturn of Roe V. Wade as well, with singer Billie Eilish dedicating her song “Your Power” at Glastonbury on Friday to the Supreme Court justices who voted in favor of the overturn.

“The song we’re about to do is, I think, one of the favorites that we’ve written and it’s about the concept of power and how we need to always remember how not to abuse it,” Eilish said. “And today is a really, really dark day for women in the U.S. I’m just going to say that as I cannot bear to think about it any longer in this moment.”

On Saturday at Glastonbury, singer Olivia Rodrigo said that she is “devastated and terrified” over this overturn. She then dedicated her cover of the Lily Allen hit “(Expletive) You” to the justices who voted in favor of it.

“So many women and so many girls are going to die because of this,” Rodrigo added.

Liberals can whine all they want to about the overturn of Roe v. Wade, but it isn’t going to get them anywhere.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
