The Hell in a Cell (HIAC) match between Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins this past Sunday was nothing short of incredible. With that said, the American Nightmare performed with an injury and will be out of action for about 6 months.

Cody Rhodes Out Of Action For 6 Months

Rhodes sported a purple chest at HIAC, due to a torn pectoral muscle. Despite beating Rollins for the third time, he was in a lot of pain doing it.

The recovery for this type of injury is about six to nine months. According to Go Midwest Sports, full physical activity is discouraged by many doctors.

As per the resource, patients with this injury regain full range of motion in about six weeks. Strength training then begins at this point.

However, a full return to strength and activity occurs within the four-to-six-month time period. Bench pressing is discouraged for six to nine months.

Cody Rhodes Out Of Action – The Reason

At the start of HIAC, the WWE announced Cody’s injury. They state that Rhodes suffered from a partial tear due to his fight with Rollins during a RAW segment that week.

WWE went on to note that the muscle tore completely off Cody’s bone during a weight-lifting session later in the week. Sounds so very painful.

Cody Rhodes made an explosive return to the WWE after a six-year hiatus at this year’s WrestleMania 38. Since then, he’s had an incredible program with Seth Rollins.

Not only have their matches been on point, but Rhodes’ promos and segments have been the highlight of RAW. Here’s hoping Cody can recover soon and get back to climbing that WWE ladder.

Speaking of recovery, AEW has been hit hard by the injury bug as of late. Yet another top superstar is out of action.

Adam Cole Injury Update

AEW’s Double or Nothing was a solid and entertaining event. One great match was Adam Cole versus Samoa Joe.

However, the match was very “hard-hitting”. Now it seems, Cole is injured.

The good news is that it isn’t “that bad” this time around. Bryan Alvarez talks about this during a recent Wrestling Observer Live.

Alvarez states that Adam is dealing with “some kind of” shoulder injury. He didn’t get specific on the type of shoulder injury Cole has.

Adam Cole’s Status With AEW

With that said, Adam Cole will be back in action rather soon, participating in the Forbidden Door event on June 26th. Until then, he won’t be in the ring performing.

However, that might not necessarily mean he won’t be on TV. He’ll likely be seen in promos or around ringside.

Adam Cole left the WWE in the summer of 2021. He quickly became “All Elite” in September of that year, debuting at the All Out pay-per-view.

Cole continues to make major strides in AEW. His debut in 2021 was explosive, and he recently became the winner of the Men’s Owen Hart Cup tournament.

On behalf of WNZ, we wish him a speedy recovery. It’s great to know that Adam won’t miss out too much as he heals from this injury.
