PFL Sets ‘Second Chance Night’ Event, Adds To Executive Team

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) will provide a second chance for fighters.

This Friday night, fighters will be given another opportunity to secure a future contract with the promotion.

Set from Universal Studios in Orlando, the action begins on fuboTV at 9 p.m. ET.

Four bouts headlined by Brazilian welterweight Carlos Leal, fresh off his dominating win in his first Challenger Series bout, who will take on Chris Brown out of Albuquerque’s famed Jackson-Wink camp.

Leal (15-3) dispatched Korey Kuppe in devastating fashion in a 56-second TKO win in February. He’ll be back looking for a second chance to earn a coveted PFL contract. Brown (8-3) has rattled off three consecutive wins in LFA and has put himself in position to take the next step in his career.

British light heavyweight Simeon Powell made the jump to professional MMA in 2021 and he did it in spectacular fashion. The 23-year-old Powell (4-0) racked up four stoppage wins beginning with his debut in August and capped off the year with a first-round flying knee KO in December. He’ll be taking on Oregonian Tobias Baker (2-1) who has a pair of first round KO’s on his resume.

Former Barstool executive added to team

Former Barstool Sports executive Sean Loughlin has been added to the executive team for the PFL.

Loughlin will be the SVP Global Brand, Digital and Social.

In this role, Loughlin will bring his industry-leading expertise across brand development and content creation to drive growth across digital and social platforms to reach the more than 600 million MMA fans around the world.

Loughlin most recently served as Vice President of Production for Barstool Sports where he oversaw all original content production for over 60 brands, including 100 podcast and video franchises that generated over 1 billion monthly views, leading to over $100 million a year in revenue. He brings more than 20 years of experience working in professional sports, winning three National Emmy Awards during his time with MLB Network and has produced for the NFL Network, NHL Network and ESPN.

“One of the biggest keys to the Professional Fighters League’s success has been innovation,” said Loughlin. “Whether it is the format that allows the fighters to control their own destiny or the technology within the broadcasts, it is clear to me that the growth of the league has been because of their ability to be a disruptor. I’m excited to drive creative content and continued growth across digital and social media platforms as part of the PFL team.”
