One of the most unfortunate things about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars is that it overshadowed many of the better moments from the show. One such moment was Jamie Lee Curtis’ touching tribute to Betty White, who was known to love animals. The moment was made even better when Grease star John Travolta stepped up in a big way after seeing the special tribute.

In the tribute, Jamie Lee Curtis held a small puppy who was up for adoption as she encouraged others to honor Betty White by adopting a dog. Thankfully, the dog in the tribute has since been adopted by none other than John Travolta’s 11 year-old son Ben!

Jamie Lee Curtis Pays Tribute To Betty White

People Magazine reported that during the In Memoriam tribute at the Oscars, Curtis brought out the adorable pup Mac N Cheese.

“She was not only a Golden Girl, she was a legend,” Curtis said of White. “She brightened every room she walked in and brought a smile to all who watched her on the screen day in and day out, for almost a century.”

Indeed!

“She was a woman who cared so much for not just her two-legged friends but for animals just like this one,” Curtis continued. “So, the greatest gift you could give Betty White is to open your heart and your home and adopt a rescue dog just like Mac N Cheese from Paw Works.”

“Thank you, Betty, thank you for being a friend to us all,” Curtis concluded, referencing the iconic theme song from White’s 1980s television show “The Golden Girls.”

Curtis later took to Instagram to gush over Ben adopting the dog, calling it “A MAGICAL ending to the story from last night.”

She went on to explain that she “reconnected” with Travolta at the Oscars ceremony decades after starring with him in the 1985 movie Perfect, and when she was heading home, she got a text that included a photo of Travolta holding the dog.

“I thought it was so beautiful to see him with her and then today I found out that he and his son, Ben have adopted beautiful little mac & cheese and are taking her home today,” Curtis wrote.

Betty White passed away on the last day of 2021 at the age of 99, just 17 days short of her 100th birthday.

When our favorite Golden Girl wasn’t acting, she spent much of her time helping animals and encouraging others to do the same. Miss Betty undoubtedly would have loved her Oscars tribute, and the outcome that came from it for little Mac N Cheese!

What a great way for John Travolta and son to honor Betty White and her love of animals. Her special legacy now lives on in sweet Mac N Cheese.
