UFC Fight Night Results: Sean Strickland Battles Past Jack Hermansson

Sean Strickland took a major step forward with a main event victory Saturday night.

Strickland scored a split decision over Jack Hermansson at UFC Fight Night live on ESPN+.

The middleweights battled for 25 minutes over five rounds, with two judges rewarding Strickland for his effort.

In the co-main event, Nick Maximov dealt Punahele Soriano a surprise defeat. Maximov, who works under the Diaz brothers, also won via split decision.

Shavkat Rakhmonov, Brendan Allen, Bryan Battle and Julian Erosa picked up main card victories in Las Vegas. Rakhmonov finished Carlston Harris with a spinning hook-kick, while Allen submitted Sam Alvey.

Allen stepped in on short notice for Phil Hawes to face Alvey.

Prelim winners included John Castaneda, Hakeem Dawodu, Chidi Njokuani, Alexis Davis, Jailton Almeida, Philipe Rowe and Malcolm Gordon.

Erosa and Steven Peterson, who kicked off the main card, were named “Fight of the Night.” However, since Peterson missed weight, the bonus went entirely to Erosa.

Rakhmonov and Njokuani were “Performance of the Night” winners.
