Tom Selleck Reveals His 33-Year Marriage To Jillie Mack Has Gotten Better Over Time – ‘We Are True Partners’

In the crazy world of Hollywood, it’s unusual to see a marriage that can actually stand the test of time. That’s what makes the former “Magnum P.I.” star Tom Selleck’s 33-year marriage to Jillie Mack so special!

In a recent interview, Rachael Ray admits she was freaked out to meet Tom Selleck for the first time many years ago.

Selleck smiles and chuckles about it – there’s just something so inviting about him!

From Frank Reagan’s desk, the “Blue Bloods’ actor talks about why show still works after 12 years on air. He says he likes “character-driven” shows and that, “we’ve got great actors, great characters, and great writing.”

Ray appreciates that the show has “family, food, and a thriller” and thinks of Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg as “true family people.”

Selleck And Mack Are ‘True Partners’

Selleck also opened up about his marriage, saying that he and Mack have been married for over 30 years. He has being a family man in common with his “Blue Bloods” costar Donnie Wahlberg, who is married to Jenny McCarthy. You can check out Selleck’s interview with Ray in the video below.

In a previous interview, Selleck said that he and Mack are “true partners” in life.

“I don’t’ think the infatuation stage of any relationship lasts forever, but it can grow into something. It just grows more satisfying. You become true partners,” the 77-year-old actor told Closer Weekly.

Selleck has previously said that though he and Mack have faced struggles at times, they have overcome them all.

“Relationships are tricky, but if you are in love with somebody and like them, you’ve got a chance at success,” he gushed. “Jillie has this sort of joie de vivre, this effervescent quality that just lights up a room.”

Selleck And Mack’s Ranch Life

Selleck and Mack have spent decades living on a 65-acre ranch in Ventura, California, and they seem to really love it.

“This ranch is a great counterpoint to the acting business, which is an abstraction — you do something, it’s up on a piece of film, and everybody argues whether it’s good or bad,” Selleck said. “You dig a hole and plant an oak tree — and I’ve probably planted a thousand of them — it’s real. It’s there, and you can watch it grow. It’s a lot different from being famous, and it keeps me sane.”

“I get up before Jillie and put on the teakettle, so when she gets up, her tea water is hot,” he added in another interview. “I think I’m pretty romantic.”

Selleck Still Working In Hollywood

Daily Mail reported that Selleck has stayed busy in the acting world, as he is currently in his 12th season on the CBS drama “Blue Bloods.” He’s been open in the past about his struggles to balance his personal and work life during the 1980s, when he was working on “Magnum P.I.”

“I worked 90 hours a week and did a movie every break. I quit Magnum to have a family,” he told People back in 2012. “It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance. My first priority is time with my family.”

These days, it seems that Selleck is more devoted to his family than ever. We hope that he and Mack have many happy years together to come!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
