Daily Mail reported that police say that they believe Saget blacked out in the bathroom of his hotel room at the Ritz Carlton in Orlando, and that he hit his head on the marble floor. At some point, he managed to get up and make his way to his bed, where he ultimately died at around 4 am.

Surveillance footage shows Saget entering his room at 2:17 am after performing a comedy show. No other people were seen entering his room until a hotel staffer found him the next day.

“It’s definitely an unusual case,” an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy told People Magazine. “There are still a lot of unanswered questions.”

Saget Was ‘Cracking Jokes’ Before His Death

Saget’s death has officially been ruled as an accident, and no signs of foul play, drugs, or alcohol were found in his case.

A hotel employee at the Ritz Carlton remembered Saget “cracking jokes, waving to people in the lobby” before his death, according to The New York Post

“When people asked for selfies, he would run over and grab their phones to take the pictures with them, joking the whole time,” this staffer said. “He was a ball of happy, positive energy.”

Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and by three daughters from a previous marriage. The four women have obtained a temporary injunction to block the release of photos and records of the investigation from being made public.
