Now that Britney Spears is a “free” woman, she can finally begin to earn money independently. Like many celebrities looking to cash in, Spears is venturing into the memoir genre, and it is coming with a MASSIVE pay day.

$15 million to (ghost) write a book is a lot. But the publisher, Simon & Schuster, clearly knows what they are doing.

It will be an instant bestseller and a favorite for every book club for months when released. Details are scarce, but the bidding war was set off when Britney wanted to write a book to counter her sister’s tell-all that detailed Britney’s abusive behavior and violent mood swings.

Here are a few title ideas I’ve come up with:

  • Not Yet A Woman
  • #FreedBritney
  • No, You Cry ME A River, Justin.

#FreeBritney?

In my unprofessional opinion, Britney Spears does not seem well. Her Instagram feed is filled with wild rants, nude photos, and random dance montages.

Despite being free from the conservatorship, Spears only has 30% custody of her two sons with Kevin Federline. Spears still reportedly pays Federline $20,000 a month in child support for their two sons, aged 16 and 15.

I’ve not seen a good-faith argument that Britney is in good mental health.

The argument around her conservatorship seems to be that it is unfair that Britney not be allowed control over her vast finances, regardless of her mental state.

It should be pointed out that there is now evidence that Spears’ father and conservator misappropriated funds.

The momentum of the #FreeBritney movement no doubt led to the end of her conservatorship, and many of her supporters should be free to “make her own mistakes.”

But at what cost? How are we willing to let a mentally unwell person go in the name of freedom?

I don’t know the answer. I know conservatorship is a tricky situation and is often abusive.

I am tired of everyone online pretending to care so much about Britney Spears.

Thousands of people are trapped in bad legal troubles, and none of them get a molecule of the attention Britney did.

The #FreeBritney movement didn’t kick off until she canceled her Las Vegas residency and said she would no longer perform. That’s what inspired Britney fans. The desire to be entertained again.

The same fans who breathlessly repeated Britney’s abuse claims seemed to dismiss similar allegations made by her sister Jamie Lynn, who claimed Britney threatened her with a knife

Fans of Britney have called Jamie Lynn an abuser.

In her book, Jamie Lynn writes: “One time, she said to me, ‘Baby, I’m scared’, and took a large knife from the kitchen, pulled me along to my room and she locked us both inside.”

What doesn’t change the fact is that no court nor Spears herself has disputed previous rulings that questioned her ability to care for herself.

What are your thoughts? Does Britney Spears have the capacity to care for herself? Was the ”
