Bellator 275 Results: Gegard Mousasi Defends, Finishes Austin Vanderford

Gegard Mousasi reminded everyone just how dangerous he can be.

The reigning Bellator middleweight champion finished Austin Vanderford in the first round at Bellator 275.

Mousasi earned his 49th career win in the process. The event aired live on Showtime from Dublin, Ireland and the 3Arena.

“I was taking my time, I wanted to hurt him,” Mousasi said. “I never said I was the best middleweight, but now, I’m going to say it: I’m the best middleweight.”

In the co-main event, Sinead Kavanagh downed Leah McCourt in front of Conor McGregor. Kavanagh scored a decision, sweeping the scorecards.

“The knee went at the first second, it just buckled and I could hardly even stand,” she said. “I had to turn this into a dog fight, but I told you guys I have a good game on the ground. I just ground my teeth and dug deep. I have full Irish heart and fighting heart, that is what that was.”

Bellator returns on Friday, March 12 with Bellator 276 from St. Louis.
