Edge might be getting a hand from someone special in his current storyline with the Miz with the help of a new tag team partner. Also, WWE has edited some controversial segments.
As per PW Insider, the feud between The Miz and Edge may include the Rated R Superstar’s wife, Beth Phoenix. Sounds like the WWE could be gearing up for a couple versus couple program for these four.
As Maryse is back with the WWE, full-time, so this would make sense. As Miz has his significant other by his side, it’s only a matter of time before The Glamazon comes to Edge’s aid.
Beth Phoenix is currently a full-time commentator on NXT 2.0. While she is retired, she has laced up her boots on occasion for in-ring action in recent years.
In 2019, she stepped out of retirement to join forces with BFF Nattie. The two were part of a Women’s Tag Titles match at WrestleMania 35.
She also participated in the 2020 Royal Rumble event. In addition, Phoenix played a role in Edge’s WrestleMania 36 program with Randy Orton.
Will she join forces with her hubby for this angle with Maryse and Miz? It seems highly likely.
Back to Edge and his RAW promo, the WWE Hall of Famer made mention of a WWE released star. He wasn’t the only one that night, as Liv Morgan did the same during a segment.
Morgan blamed Becky Lynch for her friends Ruby Soho and Sarah Logan being released by the WWE during a promo this past RAW. The mention rubbed fans, wrestlers, and others in the industry, the wrong way.
In an interesting turn of events, the company has edited out the line from their YouTube video.
This was all said during a “showdown” between Lynch and Liv.
PW Insider’s Mike Johnson notes that the line Morgan delivered about her released friends probably came from someone on the creative team, or Vince McMahon himself. She did not come up with the idea on her own.
Meanwhile, what Edge said (about John Morrison) likely came from the superstar, himself. The WWE Hall of Famer is one of few who get this type of “freedom” with promos.
When the video was first posted to YouTube, the line was still there. As there has been some negative feedback, they’ve likely removed it.
These two ladies are set to battle things out for the RAW women’s title this December 6th. This is to commemorate the 17th anniversary of Trish Stratus versus Lita main eventing the show.
Could Liv Morgan take the title from Becks? That’s hard to say.
Morgan became the #1 contender after she scored the win during a fatal five-way bout on the November 22nd edition of RAW. This week’s promo leading up to next week’s match got a lot of attention.
Not only for what Morgan said but the intensity between the women. Next week’s bout should be an interesting one.
Liv Morgan has been with the WWE since 2014. She entered NXT then and would move to the main roster in 2017.
Liv has yet to score any gold in the company. However, she has hit #53 in 2018’s PWI Female 100 and #137 in the 2021 edition.
