Deion Sanders Shares Update After Hospital Release

Sports Illustrated reported that the iconic NFL defensive back had been hospitalized after complications with a foot surgery, but he has since been released.

Sanders, who many consider one of the most talented NFL players of all time, expressed his gratitude to God, fans, his doctors, and nurses.

“Tiger Nation!! Your non-stop love and support through these past few weeks have been a tremendous blessing and I cannot thank you enough,” Sanders wrote on social media. “As you know there have been some complications following my foot surgery, but it brings me so much joy to tell you that I’m now out of the hospital and on my path that we started together.”

“I promise you I’m going to be smart and continue to adhere to my wonderful team of doctors’ orders,” he added. “Don’t be surprised when you see me back on the field in a new whip.”

Sanders also thanked GOD for his “wonderful team of Doctors and Nurses”.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen celebrities praising the frontline healthcare workers who braved this pandemic to care for the rest of us. What once was all the rage is now an area of contention.

Then there’s his humble callout to the Big Guy. Kudos to this NFL hall of famer for his wonderful example.

Interim Coach Gives Sanders Update

Interim coach Gary Harrell told the Clarion Ledger that Sanders’ return to the Jackson State sideline could come within the next week or two. He said that Sanders “is doing well, he’s still in great spirits.”

“Talked to him last night, he’s still planning on being here hopefully this game and at least by next week, but he’s taking his time I think he likes how things are going, how things are flowing,” Harrell said. “He still has the confidence and the belief that we can do the things he believes in doing and carrying out those assignments.”

Harrell added that Sanders is eager to get back to coaching the team in person.

“He’s missing not being here physically,” Harrell said. “He’s going through a lot as far as not being here. He definitely wants to be here with the guys on gameday as we continue this championship run.”
