On Sunday, country music star Jason Aldean tore into California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) latest mandate requiring children in his state to get the COVID-19 vaccine in order to attend school. Aldean, one of the few openly conservative entertainers out there, is on a recent tear after his wife, Brittany, was attacked for her political views.
The “Dirt Road Anthem” singer took to Instagram after Newsom announced that his mandate would offer no testing alternative, meaning that children will need to get the vaccine if they want to attend classes.
To say that did not sit well with Aldean would be putting it mildly.

“So let me get this straight!” Aldean wrote on Instagram. “It is no longer our decisions as parents (or free Americans) to make decisions about our kids, Gavin Newsom makes those decisions for us now?? You gotta be kidding me!”
“People in California should be outraged and people everywhere else better start standing up and speaking out NOW,” he added. “This is not how America and being free works.”

Gov. Newsom’s Absurd Vaccine Mandate
Fox News reported that Newsom’s mandate basically adds the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of vaccinations that are required for children over the age of 12 to attend in-person classes. It will be enforced in California as soon as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves of different age groups to receive the COVID-19 shot.
Last week, Aldean defiantly said that he would “never apologize” for his views after he defended his wife Brittany, who was attacked by leftists for wearing anti-Joe Biden merchandise in an Instagram post last month.
“I will never apologize for my beliefs or my love for my family and country,” Aldean said in a recent post. “This is the greatest country in the world and I want to keep it that way.”
He added the hashtag “unapologetic” to the end of it.
Brittany Aldean Defends Herself From Online Attacks
Brittany previously defended herself from attacks over her pro-Donald Trump views, making it clear that she’s just as “unapologetic” about her conservative opinions as her husband is.
“I personally don’t give a d— if people don’t agree with me,” she said earlier this year. “I think it’s important now more than ever to stand for what you believe, even if it ‘goes against the grain.’ Do your research and form your own opinion — speak out if you wish. But most importantly, don’t bully people who feel differently than you.”
Since the entertainment industry is run by liberals, most celebrities who hold conservative views are too afraid to express them publicly.
We applaud the Aldeans for continuing to be so courageously and unapologetic about their rightwing political viewpoints. So few celebrities are willing to go against the grain these days. Especially in Hollywood.
Vaccine mandates are certainly a hot button – and sensitive – topic and so it took guts for Jason Aldean to share his personal views.
It will be interesting to see if other conservative celebrities decide to follow this celebrity couple’s example by coming out of the metaphorical political closet and giving voice to their views.
