The voice of the UFC, Bruce Buffer, will not make UFC 267.
UFC president Dana White confirmed the news during the pre-fight press conference. Buffer, the veteran Octagon announcer, has COVID-19.
Joe Martinez, who has filled in for a number of events over the past few years for Buffer, will step in.
According to MMA Junkie, Buffer had announced the fighters for the last 255 consecutive numbered or pay-per-view UFC events.
The streak started with UFC 11 back in September of 1996. But Buffer took the smart road with his positive test and did not make the trip to Abu Dhabi.
UFC 267 features two title fights and airs live on pay-per-view Saturday from the Etihad Arena. The main card begins at 1 p.m. ET after prelims. which start at 10:30 a.m. ET.
