Fans of the ABC reality show “Dancing With The Stars” were furious last summer when longtime host Tom Bergeron was abruptly fired and replaced by supermodel Tyra Banks. Thankfully, Bergeron has just made an announcement that has his fans from his “Dancing With The Stars” days feeling very excited.

Bergeron Launches His Comeback

While appearing on the podcast “Bob Saget’s Here For You,” Tom Bergeron revealed that he is mounting his comeback with a new show that he has in the works.

At first Bergeron was coy about it saying:

“I won’t give you the name of it. It’s a game show and it is very reminiscent of something I’ve done in the past in some aspects,” he said in the episode. “We’re waiting to hear if it’s picked up. We’re hearing, as one does in Hollywood sometimes, there is ‘great buzz.’ But I’m a New Englander, it’s not real until it’s real.”

Bergeron went on to add that it was former “Wheel Of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” executive producer Harry Friedman who convinced him to get on board.

“At this particular point in my career, I’m just looking to have a good time. I don’t really need to host anything anymore. The only reason I agreed to this particular project that we did the pilot for was who came and asked me if I’d be interested,” Bergeron said.

“When Harry Friedman shows up, who’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi of that genre, and he’s excited about it, that was a pretty persuasive argument and we had a ball, we really did. So I’m hoping it gets picked up.”

Bergeron’s New Game Show Revealed

We just found out he will be anchoring the NBC reboot of the classic game show “Tic-Tac-Dough.”

The game show is based on the classic tic-tac-toe game. Contestants answer questions from various categories to put an X or an O on the board.

This show will be unscripted so we’ll get to witness Tom Bergon’s wit firsthand.

Fans Rejoice About Bergeron

Fans made it clear that they can’t wait to see Bergeron back on their televisions again:

Earlier this month, Bergeron also teased that he is making a guest appearance on another unnamed “NBC sitcom.”

“DWTS” fans were stunned last year when Bergeron announced that he had been fired from the show despite the fact that he had hosting it since it premiered back in 2005.

Bergeron Discusses His Firing

Earlier this year, Bergeron talked to Fox News, about his firing and the support that he has received since then.

“There was an outpouring of support from people who already missed you after your relationship with ‘Dancing with the Stars’ ended,” the interviewer said. “How surprised were you that you made such an impact on so many lives?”

“It was great,” Bergeron replied. “I said to somebody, ‘It was like being eulogized without the pesky business of dying.’ It’s always better if you can actually still be around to enjoy it.”
