Queen Elizabeth Gets Good News From Judge – Prince Philip’s Will To Remain Sealed To Protect Her

Queen Elizabeth got some good news from a judge on Tuesday when he ruled that the will of her late husband Prince Philip, who died in April at the age of 99, will remain sealed in order to protect her.

Here’s a report about the passing of Prince Philip:

Judge Rules To Protect ‘Dignity’ Of The Queen

Fox News reported that Judge Andrew McFarlane decided that the documents must remain sealed for the next 90 years to protect the “dignity” of the 95 year-old Queen.

Once the 90 years expire, the will can be opened in private and consideration can be given to whether it should be published.

“I have held that, because of the constitutional position of the Sovereign, it is appropriate to have a special practice in relation to royal wills,” McFarlane said in his judgment. “There is a need to enhance the protection afforded to truly private aspects of the lives of this limited group of individuals in order to maintain the dignity of the Sovereign and close members of her family.”

The judge went on to say that he had not been told about the contents of the will.

He added that as the president of the High Court’s family division, he is custodian of a safe which holds 30 envelopes, each containing the sealed will of a deceased Royal.

These Royals include the late Queen Mother Elizabeth and the current Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, each of whom died in 2002.

Judge’s Ruling Continues

The judge ruled that while there might be “public curiosity” about Royal wills, “there is no true public interest in the public knowing this wholly private information.” He also said that he decided to make the hearing private because it would probably generate “very significant publicity and conjecture” that would “defeat the purpose of the application,” according to The BBC.

“I accepted the submission that, whilst there may be public curiosity as to the private arrangements that a member of the Royal Family may choose to make in their will, there is no true public interest in the public knowing this wholly private information,” he said.

Queen Devastated By Philip’s Death

Queen Elizabeth was devastated when Prince Philip, who she was married to for 73 years, died two months shy of his 100th birthday earlier this year.

“My family and I would like to thank you all for the support and kindness shown to us in recent days,” the Queen said on her 95th birthday back in April, according to Town And Country. “We have been deeply touched, and continue to be reminded that Philip had such an extraordinary impact on countless people throughout his life.”

We’re glad to see that the judge ruled in the Queen’s favor, and that her “dignity” will be protected regarding the death of the love of her life. May God save the Queen!

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
