Gabby Petito

We have several updates into the case of missing #VanLife Influencer Gabby Petito. Unfortunately, these aren’t good updates. We’ve broken down the most significant parts of the story below.

Would you please keep Gabby’s family in your prayers? This story constantly changes. We will keep this page updated as we learn more.

Body Believed To Be Gabby Petito Found

Authorities believe they have found the remains of Gabby Petito. Forensics have yet to identify the body officially. Authorities found the body near her last known location in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, and perhaps where Laundrie abandoned her.

My speculation here is that Laundrie and Petito had another massive fight, and Laundrie left Petito in the middle of a huge National Park to fend for herself.

Van Found By Chance By YouTuber

Authorities caught a break in the look for Petito thanks to another YouTubing and road-tripping family.

Youtuber’s Red, White, and Bethune were road-tripping themselves through Grand Teton when they spotted Petito & Laundrie’s van in their video from late August.

The Bethune’s spotted the van in Grand Teton and within a close distance of where authorities found remains believed to be Gabby Petito.

Brian Laundrie Gone Missing

Laundrie did not contact authorities over Petito being missing. He never released an official statement and instead immediately obtained legal representation.

Over the weekend, Laundrie went missing. Neither authorities nor his parents know where he is.

There is fear that he will flee the country. Police believed he escaped into the massive Carlton Reserve in his native Florida. However the search was suspended on Saturday.

Law enforcement hasn’t charged Laundrie with any crime at this time. And, there’s no concrete evidence that he even committed one.

However, since he was the last person to see Gabby alive, he is being sought by authorities for questioning.

Getting a lawyer and then immediately going missing is not a great sign of innocence, in my opinion.

FBI Searches Laundrie House

The FBI is now involved and executed a search warrant on the house of the Laundrie family. The FBI is on the lookout for the missing boyfriend and questioned Laundrie’s parents about his whereabouts.

This search is the second time police raided the house. Authorities previously searched the house on Friday.

Rainbow Over Gabby’s Final Resting Place

A ray of hope appeared in this dreary story. A rainbow appeared over the place where searchers found Gabby’s body. I hope this symbolizes that she is now at rest and in peace, and her family can begin the healing process.

A Note on our National Obsession with Missing Women

I don’t fault the media for covering this story. Americans are intrigued by missing person cases. Especially if they involve someone attractive who seemed to have a bubbly personality.

But this latest case has brought to light those missing women cases that do not garner any media attention.

Many missing persons’ cases involve missing and murdered women of Indigenous descent. In Wyoming, where Gabby Petito was last seen, more than 700 Native American people went missing, many of them women and children.

Fortunately, most of these people were found within one week. However, 21% remained missing for longer. Now there are some people who think that Gabby doesn’t deserve so much attention due to her race.

That’s ridiculous. A missing person affects and destroys a family regardless of the color of their skin. But it doesn’t mean we can’t pay more attention to missing Indigenous women.
