Duane “Dog The Bounty Hunter” Chapman is speaking out this week to admit to using the N-word in the past, claiming that he thought he had a “pass” to do so.

Dog Discusses Use Of N-Word

Dog opened up about his past use of the N-word after he was accused of racism and homophobia by two of his daughters.

Here’s what he has to say about it:

“I thought I had a pass in the Black tribe to use [the N-word], kind of like Eminem,” Dog told Entertainment Tonight, referring to the famous rapper.

When asked who exactly gave him this “pass” to use the N-word, Dog responded by saying his “brothers” did.

“I had just gotten out of prison in 1979 after spending 18 months in Texas and it was probably three quarters from the Black tribe,” he recalled. “So that was a word that we used back-and-forth as maybe a compliment. My pass expired for using it but no one told me that. To say a racist name doesn’t qualify to make you a racist.”

When Dog was told that just saying the N-word is a racist act, he fired back by saying, “I have more Black friends than Eminem.”

As you might expect, social media is rife with disbelief that he thought he had a pass:

“I have never been a racist,” he insisted. “I’m 33.5 percent Apache. But because of over 15 years ago, I have an Achilles’ heel because I used the wrong word.”

Dog Claims He’s Not Homophobic

Dog also pushed back against his daughter Bonnie’s claim that he is homophobic.

“She’s been fed what to say,” he said of Bonnie’s claims. “I have three men on my staff that are gay. My daughter is gay, Baby Lyssa. I don’t understand why anybody would ever say that.”

“Would I die for a gay man or a Black man?” he said. “I’d lay down my life.”

Dog claimed that his daughter Bonnie “is being brainwashed” and is being “fed what to say.” Ultimately, this is why Dog’s fiancé Francie Frane said that they decided not to invite Bonnie and her sister Cecily to their upcoming wedding.

“As hard as it is and as heartbreaking as it is, we had to make a decision that was very difficult for us,” Francie said of not inviting the two of them to the wedding. “We’ve been through hell, him and I, in the past three years. …And I am not going to allow our day to be ruined by this nonsense.”

Bonnie Fires Back

Bonnie fired back at her father in a brief statement of her own:

“As far as the idea that I’m being brainwashed, this is the dumbest thing my father has ever said. I didn’t believe he would go this far to discredit me so much as to say I was brainwashed. I am concerned about him. He has begun to believe crazy conspiracy theories. The only credibility my dad has to speak about brainwashing is perhaps as a victim.”

It’s sad to see a family being torn apart right before our eyes. While we certainly don’t condone use of the N-word, it’s also unfortunate to see Bonnie throwing her own father under the bus to the “woke” left, making him an easy target for cancel culture.

We can only hope that the Chapmans are able to patch things up and move on from this. The more they lash out at one another in the public eye, however, the more unlikely it looks that this will happen.
