In the wake of Meghan McCain leaving “The View” at the end of July, some have wondered whether former “Full House” actress Candace Cameron Bure would consider returning to her role as the token conservative on the ABC talk show.

Is A Return To ‘The View’ In The Cards For Cameron Bure?

This week, Cameron Bure revealed once and for all whether she is even open to going back to the show she cohosted from 2015 until 2016, and those who are pining for her return will not be happy with what she had to say.

“My time at ‘The View’ was exciting, challenging, informative, emotional, and stressful. It was one of the toughest jobs I’ve held, but I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to sit at the table with such talented, smart, capable women,” Cameron Bure, 45, told People Magazine. “I also established long-standing relationships off-camera with show producers, crew, talent and guests, which I’m forever thankful for.”

“While I’d never want a permanent seat at the table again, it always feels like family when I come back to the show as a guest,” she added.

Here’s a video of one time she returned as a guest on “The View.”

Cameron Bure Reveals Hardest Part Of Cohosting ‘The View’

When Cameron Bure looks back at her tenure on “The View” today, she said the hardest part was “diving headfirst into politics.”

“When I was asked to join the table, the show was supposed to steer towards more ever-green topics and less about politics,” she recalled. “Enter Donald Trump into the presidential race. It changed everything.”

“The lighter version of the show I thought I was going to work for suddenly became solely about politics. I felt like I was back in school, doing 4-5 hours of homework a night. It was exhausting,” she continued. “Along with that, I was traveling back and forth from Los Angeles to New York every week to be with my family on the weekends. I’m surprised I kept up with my schedule for as long as I did.”

She Still Has Some Positive Memories From The Show

Even so, Cameron Bure still has some positive memories about her time on the show.

“I’ll always remember warm moments on and off camera with [co-hosts] Whoopi [Goldberg] and Joy [Behar],” she said. “The show threw me an epic 40th birthday party on air complete with surprise guests like Marilu Henner, Sally Field, For King & Country and, of course, my family. My most fun day was dressing up as Tinkerbell and flying down from the rafters on the Halloween episode. We definitely had very fun times together.”

While Cameron Bure tries to stay away from politics, her views are definitely more conservative, than those of her former cohosts on “The View.” That often put her in the position of being the one who got attacked.

Being the token conservative punching bag on “The View” is no easy task, so it’s no surprise that Candace Cameron Bure has no interest in returning to the show permanently.
