Country music star Trisha Yearwood opened up to Kelly Clarkson this week about her COVID-19 battle and how her husband Garth Brooks helped get her through it. The country music power couple has remained visible on social media through this pandemic and now fans get a more personal glimpse into their relationship.
Trisha Yearwood’s Battle With COVID-19
“I had what was considered a mild case and I think that’s why we had — we were lucky that COVID didn’t go into our lungs, but that’s probably also why we have more trouble here,” she told PEOPLE (the TV Show!). “It was just no joke.”
Yearwood added that Brooks “would not stay away from me… I’m like, ‘Dude, I cannot be responsible for giving Garth Brooks COVID.’”
“‘You have to go quarantine on the other side of the house,'” she explained. “He would not do it. He was really worried about me. But he never got sick and he was vaccinated. He took really good care of me, but he drove me crazy.”

While appearing on “The Kelly Clarkson” show recently, Yearwood said she lost her sense of taste and smell gradually.
“About five days in, I’m like, ‘honey,’ because Garth makes my coffee every morning, ‘this is weak coffee…I love you, but did you put coffee in here?'” she recalled. “It was just like that.”
Garth Brooks And Trisha Yearwood On Their Marriage
The country superstar duo has been married for fifteen years, and earlier this year they revealed how they keep the spark alive in their marriage.
“I think you gotta treat it like a duet,” Brooks said, according to Fox News. “You gotta harmonize, you gotta make your partner feel like they’re a star. And if not, you’re gonna turn into a solo act pretty damn quick if you know what I mean.”
“I think for me, music is the big thing to set the mood,” he added. “And I don’t know if you listen to country music, but one of the greatest female voices ever on the planet is this gorgeous blonde named Trisha Yearwood. That’ll get you in the mood right there.”
This Country Music Couple Is Standing The Test Of Time
Yearwood agrees with her husband on using music to set the mood.
“You do need the right music, and there is this very sexy singer-songwriter guy who always gets me in the mood,” she said. “Maybe you’ve heard of him, his name is John Legend.”
