Meghan McCain announced in July that she is leaving “The View” after spending three seasons as the token conservative on the panel. Now, ABC has announced a list of conservative guest hosts who will be taking McCain’s spot until a permanent replacement is found.

Executive Producer Speaks Out
Executive producer Brian Teta spoke out this week to discuss the 25 seasons “The View” has been on the air.
“Twenty-five years is such an incredible milestone,” he told The Wrap. “We have so much planned to honor this amazing platform that Barbara Walters created. I can’t think of a better way to kick off that celebration than by welcoming the co-hosts back to the iconic ‘View’ table and to have them in front of a live studio audience again.”
“We have some truly exciting plans to celebrate this anniversary all season long,” Teta added. “We’ll be inviting back all of our legendary lineup of former ‘View’ co-hosts to guest as well as taking a little time to find our next permanent co-host to join the panel.”

McCain Leaves ‘The View’
McCain announced in July that she would be leaving the show in August to focus on spending more time with her family in Washington D.C. Her last day was August 6. She has spent most of the pandemic with her husband and baby in DC and “The View” is filmed in a studio in New York City.
“So I am just going to rip the Band-Aid off. I am here to tell all of you, my wonderful co-hosts and the viewers at home, that this is going to be my last season here at ‘The View,’” she said.
“We have this incredible life here … and I think, as any new mom knows, when I think about where I want Liberty to have her first steps, her first words, I just have this really wonderful life here that ultimately I didn’t want to leave,” McCain added.
Being the token conservative on “The View” is no easy task, so it will be interesting to see how these guest hosts handle it.
Here’s hoping that at least one of them is able to shut down the nonsense that comes out of Joy Behar’s mouth on a daily basis!
