WWE NXT TakeOver 2021 had a main event full of stars and other titles were decided as well. So, it so now time to jump right into the report card.

WWE NXT TakeOver 2021 In Your House Report Card: Grades Are In!

Mercedes Martinez vs. Xia Li

Basically, this match was tossed together by really stretching for an angle. So, Mercedes Martinez defeated Via Li like four years ago and somehow there is still anger.

Truthfully, nothing special from these two. The match was okay, but would have been fine for any episode of NXT.

The finisher from Li was not special and actually looked weak, while Martinez let out her aggression after the bell. The mind games after the match was my favorite part. Grade: B-

Winner Takes All Six-Man Tag Team Match for the NXT North American Championship/NXT Tag Team Championship: Bronson Reed & MSK vs. Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde & Raúl Mendoza)

An interesting match, where if one champion is pinned, everyone loses their belts. After some major setbacks, Legado del Fantasma were looking to get back in the winner’s circle.

My biggest issue with the match was MSK not being able to hit those insane spots. Nothing against Bronson Reed, who can fly, but he has nothing on his tag partners.

Still, the highflying spots were fun to watch and Reed used that strength, especially sending Santos Escobar through the barricade. The champions retained and Legado del Fantasma’s spot at the top is slipping. Grade: B

Ladder Match for the Million Dollar Championship: Cameron Grimes vs. LA Knight

For about 30 years, you can count on one hand the number of people who held the Million Dollar Championship. Therefore, seeing it reintroduced in NXT seems a bit odd.

To add more interest, WWE decided to make the match a ladder match. Unlike most ladder matches, the big spots were saved for the final few minutes.

Now, it will be interesting to see if the title remains a staple on NXT. Personally, the brand has too many belts. Grade: B+

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Raquel González vs. Ember Moon

Who would have thought Ember Moon would return to NXT after a main roster run where she was rarely used. I must say, Raquel González looked good in the match and Moon probably helped.

Overall, the match was much better than I ever imagined. González used power and Moon relied on the top rope.

González’s reign just started, so she needs more time with the belt. She looked impressive and therefore could be a hit, with her size helping. Grade: B+

Fatal 5-Way Match for the NXT Championship: Karrion Kross vs. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano vs. Pete Dunne

Looking at the five participants, each was worthy to walk out as champion. Therefore, you knew the match would easily steal the show.

The match was filled with non-stop action, with Karrion Kross booked to look the most impressive. Everyone came-off looking great by the time the final bell rang.

Kross kept the title as his stock continue to skyrocket. Although, there were no losers in the match. Grade: A-
