Sean Lennon Pushes Back Against ‘Failed’ Political Correctness Culture

Sean Ono Lennon is speaking out against political correctness. The only child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono took to Twitter to point out the hypocrisy of the left’s modern-day culture war.

This isn’t he first time that Sean has spoken out against the far left.

Last year, he confronted rioters who tore down statues.

He uses his large following on Twitter to get his opinions out and it often makes him a target of extremists.

Witnessed Political Correctness Being Invented

Sean Lennon remembered when there was “zero political correctness.” He saw it being invented as he was coming of age.

He believes politically correct culture war has made things worse.

“When I was young ppl used to say racist s— about Asians around me all the time and then be like ‘Oh sorry! But you’re not reeeally Asian so…’ and I think they sincerely thought that would make me feel better,” the younger Lennon tweeted. “I’m not exactly sure why I brought that up but I think it’s because I want to say that I grew up in a time when there was zero political correctness.”

It seems he has come to believe the concept has “failed” to lead to a better society and even made “matters worse by creating bigger unforeseen problems.”

The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions

“The road to hell is paved w good intentions,” he continued in the thread. “We’ve been trying this kind of morality policing for a while now & I would posit things are arguably getting worse. Race relations seem to be in the middle of a ‘two steps back’ moment.”

The 45-year-old musician continued by saying that his DMs (direct messages) have “never been more filled with bizarre WWII-era bulls–t (like chink and jap, or whatever).”

What Lennon said next is likely to have upset plenty of social justice warriors.

He reminded us that the no ethnic group is the problem, including White people.

He continued:

He ended his lengthy thread by saying “divide and conquer” is not a strategy that benefits society or individuals. The identify politics of political correctness is destructive.

Lennon Met With Backlash

Predictably, Sean Lennon was met with backlash for his even-tempered and well thought out tweet storm.

He was attacked personally for not accepting political correctness as “decency” and “basic manners” while others claimed he decided to be ignorant.
