Given the fact that the legendary Hollywood star Betty White is 99, many fans have been worrying about her over the past year amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ll be happy to know that new reports are coming in stating that White is doing just fine after a year in quarantine. She is looking forward to getting out and about again this summer.

White’s Rep Updates Fans

Jeff Witjas, White’s rep, told TMZ that the former “Golden Girls” star has been staying busy over the past year reading, watching TV, and doing crossword puzzles.

From last year:

While the pandemic has negatively impacted White’s ability to socialize with friends, she has stayed in touch with her loved ones over the phone and by writing letters.

She has also had limited visits with friends and family through the window of her home during quarantine.

Though White has been an animal lover all of her life, she does not have any pets at the moment, which is definitely an empty spot in her life.

However, she does have some ducks on her property that walk up to her door each day to say hello.

Witjas declined to reveal whether or not White is vaccinated, saying that it is a personal matter for her.

He also left it unclear if and when White will return to work in Hollywood, but after more than 60 years in the entertainment business, she definitely deserves a break!

Betty White Turns 99

White celebrated her 99th birthday in January. To mark the occasion, she spoke out to credit her “sense of humor” for keeping her young.

“I don’t like the other side,” White told People Magazine of her mentality. “The positive side is a lot more fun.”

“Don’t take yourself too seriously,” she advised. “You can lie to others — not that I would — but you cannot lie to yourself.”

As for how it felt to turn 99, White said, “I am blessed with good health, so turning 99 is no different than turning 98.”

White’s Long Career

White starred in many shows throughout her long career. Some are well-known such as “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “The Golden Girls.”

In 1971, Betty and her late game show host Allen Ludden, produced a 39-episode series that was originally titled “The Pet Set,” and later called “Betty White’s Pet Set.”

The show, which is now available on DVD and streaming and digital platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Google Play, showcased Betty’s celebrity friends and their pets. Guests included Doris Day, Mary Tyler Moore, and Burt Reynolds and they sometimes got to meet wild animals.

White said in a statement, “What a time! It remains one of my favorite shows even 50 years later.”

Her Advice On Living A Long Life

White also shared some advice for others on how to live a long life.

“Again, having a sense of humor,” she said. “Just looking at the positive side and not dwelling on the downside. Takes up too much energy being negative. Also having a good agent who keeps me busy all the time.”

We are all certainly lucky to have Betty White in our lives. Here’s hoping that she has many more birthdays, and that she has the chance to enjoy life post-quarantine!
