Kiersten Hening, a former Virginia Tech women’s soccer star, has filed a lawsuit against her ex-coach claiming that she was forced off the team simply because she did not want to take a knee before a game in September.
TMZ Sports reported that Hening, 21, was a midfielder/defender on her school’s soccer team from 2018 until 2020.
She claimed in her lawsuit that her former coach Charles Adair did not like her political views. And, when the Black Lives Matter movement became popular last summer, she often disagreed with her team politically.
Hening said in court documents that she “supports social justice and believes that black lives matter” but she said that she “does not support BLM the organization.”
She added that she is not a fan of Black Lives Matter’s “tactics and core tenets of its mission statement, including defunding the police.”

During the pregame reading of a “unity statement” on Sept. 12, 2020, many members of the team knelt before a game against Virginia, but Hening defiantly stood.
She claimed that she was then “verbally attacked” by Adair at halftime, with him putting his finger “directly in her face” and saying that she was “b–tching and moaning.”
He also allegedly told her that she was being selfish and individualistic for “doing her own thing.”
Hening claimed that Adair often verbally attacked her before benching her. She said that things eventually became so “intolerable that she felt compelled” to leave the team.
She is suing on the grounds that her constitutional rights were violated, and she wants a judge to force Adair to both put her back on the team and become more familiar with the Constitution.
The amount she is suing for has not been disclosed.

Prior to all of this, Hening was a star member of the team.
As a freshman in 2018, she started in 18 soccer games, and she played in 19 the following year as a sophomore.
She stated in her lawsuit that she “played more minutes than any other player on the team.”
She’s getting some support from those on social media:
There is unfortunately nothing surprising about what happened to Hening. Refusing to give in to the “woke” mob has become an unforgivable sin in our society.
We hope that Kiersten Henning gets the outcome she’s hoping for and that justice is served to her former soccer coach.
