Anne Heche Claims Ellen DeGeneres Didn’t Want Her To ‘Dress Sexy’ When They Were Together

Anne Heche and Ellen DeGeneres dated from 1997 until 2000, and they made headlines quite a bit during that time. In a new TikTok video, Heche is claiming that when they were dating, DeGeneres didn’t want her to “dress sexy.”

Heche’s TikTok Revelation

In the TikTok video, Heche reviewed some of her “most iconic fashion looks,” including one from the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards back in 1998. That night, DeGeneres wore a silk navy suit while Heche was decked out in a matching dress and sheer duster.

“Why do I look like a hippie?” Heche asked. “It’s because Ellen didn’t want me to dress sexy.”

Heche proceeded to give her look a 0 out of 10 as she gave a thumbs down and said, “Bye, no.”

She Opens Up About Her Relationship 

While appearing on “Dancing With The Stars” last year, Heche opened up about her relationship with DeGeneres. She claimed that it nearly cost her the career she had in Hollywood.

She also claimed that she was blacklisted from the entertainment industry for years because of it.

“My story moved the needle for equal rights forward, when I fell in love with Ellen DeGeneres,” Heche said on the show, according to Entertainment Tonight.

“At my movie premiere for Volcano, I said I was taking Ellen as my date. I was told I would lose my Fox contract.”

“She took my hand and said, ‘Do what they say.’ I said, ‘No thanks,'” Heche continued. “I took Ellen to the premiere, I was ushered out and told I was not allowed to go to the afterparty for fear they would get pictures of me with a woman. It was unbelievable.”

Heche explained that DeGeneres was “warning” her that this would happen, but she did not understand it. 

“I was in a relationship with Ellen for three and a half years, and the stigma attached to that relationship was so bad, I was fired from my multimillion dollar picture deal. I did not work in a studio picture for 10 years,” she said.

Heche Ran None Of This By DeGeneres

After being eliminated from “Dancing With The Stars,” Heche admitted that she had not spoken to DeGeneres in years. And, she had not told her that she planned to talk about their relationship on the show.

“With relationships, I think many of us have [been there], you come to a fork in the road, ‘What do you want and what do I want?'” Heche said. “Those goals, that intent in life, is determined by the individual. Her intent and my intent were different and that’s why we separated.”

DeGeneres has gone on to marry “Arrested Development” actress Portia de Rossi, and she never talks about her relationship with Heche.

The talk show host likely won’t be happy that Heche is talking about their relationship once again in her TikTok video.
