Mark Cuban Dallas Mavericks National Anthem

Mark Cuban has canceled the National Anthem before Dallas Mavericks home basketball games. The NBA previously required all teams to play “The Star Spangled Banner” before each game, but now it is at the discretion of owners. And, Cuban sent the song to the chopping block.

The change happened a few weeks back, but went unnoticed.

The Mavericks began 13 home games without the National Anthem before Cuban was asked about it.

Mark Cuban Made National Anthem Decision In November

The absence likely went unnoticed because of the lack of fans permitted at NBA games.

Only recently have just a few Maverick fans been able to attend. Cuban made the decision to cut the anthem in the fall but is finally getting around to acknowledging it publicly.

“It was my decision, and I made it in November,” the Mavericks owner told The Athletic.

This hard line against the National Anthem in Texas, one of the most only patriotic states in the nation, might not sit well with fans.

The sanitizing of America pride is not typically welcome in the Lone Star state.

Sports And Politics

Sports fans have been getting served up a heavy dose of liberal politics over the past few years with the help of Colin Kaepernick.

Now, Cuban has stripped the National Anthem from Mavericks games adding insult to injury.

He pointed to the possibility of this decision last summer and when the NBA gave permission amidst the pandemic, Cuban took it.

The American billionaire who made his fortune here doesn’t believe in public patriotism.

Perhaps he is so rich that he just doesn’t care about the consequences and instead wants liberal social change at any cost.

However, maybe if this happens, he’ll rethink:

In June, the “Shark Tank” host said:

“The National Anthem Police in this country are out of control. If you want to complain, complain to your boss and ask why they don’t play the National Anthem every day before you start work.”

He also said he’d be proud of his players if they took a knee during the anthem. Now, the anthem’s been cancelled.

Sports fans generally watch in part to escape the everyday worries of life.

The politicization of nearly every aspect of our lives continue with these barrage of changes to accommodate liberals.

Sports are certainly not exempt.
