Billy Brown Of ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Unexpectedly Dies

Billy Brown of “Alaskan Bush People” has died at the age of 68. The Brown family patriarch passed away following a seizure.

Bear Brown Announced Billy’s Death On Instagram

Billy’s son Bear Brown announced the sad news on his private Instagram story.

“We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering from a seizure,” Bear told fans. “He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed.”

“He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well,” the 33-year-old younger Brown continued. “We plan to honor his legacy going forward, and to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time. God Bless Everyone!”

Ami Brown’s Lung Cancer

Fans of the show will remember Billy’s wife Ami’s debilitating struggle with stage 4 lung cancer. The Browns were very open about her battle against the aggressive disease.

Now, Ami has outlived her husband who suddenly passed away.

Following Ami’s diagnosis of cancer, the family packed up and moved from Alaska to Washington State to give her better access to treatment. They purchased a 435-acre property in the North Cascade Mountains.

BACKSTORY: Alaskan Bush People Need Our Prayers After SHOCKING Diagnosis

Daughter Rain Brown shared her grief for her father on Instagram.

“I lost a true friend. Not forever, but only in this world. Please hold my family in your thoughts and prayers, especially my mother. Please hold your family tight for me. Words cannot express how wonderful he was and is,” Rain wrote on the Instagram post below. “But I will say, the closest thing to an angel I’ve ever known. God bless you da I love and miss you dearly. You will always be my hero. God bless everyone.”

Many fans of the show are sending their condolences to the family:

“Alaskan Bush People” Beat The Kardashians

“Alaskan Bush People” premiered on Discovery in 2014. At that time, the Browns were so far removed from civilization in Alaska that they’d often go six to nine months each year without seeing an outsider.

Viewers were hooked as they learned of the family’s unique way of life in this modern age.

With their series return in 2018, “Alaskan Bush People” had more viewers than “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”

Americans were hooked with this unconventional family who depended on the land for survival.

BACKSTORY: ‘Alaskan Bush People’ Returns And Clobbers The Kardashians

“Alaskan Bush People” finished airing its 12th season in October. It’s unclean how Brown’s death will impact a potential Season 13.

Now, the Browns have to suddenly face life without their beloved patriarch. Big changes are ahead without Billy.
