San Francisco Canceling Founding Fathers By Renaming Dozens Of Schools

Cancel culture is going after our Founding Fathers and other American leaders. Just this week, the San Francisco Board of Education voted to rename 44 public schools in a vote of 6 to 1.

The names on the chopping block are familiar and belong to important American leaders. Lincoln, Washington, and Roosevelt will no longer have their names attached to schools in the Golden Gate City. Dianne Feinstein’s name will also be removed.

San Francisco School Board Cancel Founding Fathers And Lincoln

Francis Scott Key, who penned the national anthem, former presidents William McKinley, James Garfield, James Monroe, and Herbert Hoover, and even Paul Revere were viewed as being too controversial and incendiary to have the honor of having a school named after them.

While many of the Founding Fathers are being canceled because they owned slaves, Lincoln freed them. The liberal elites still have him on the chopping block because they feel he was mean to Native Americans.

While the San Francisco School Board tackled this topic, they still haven’t addressed when children will return to school. In the meantime, parents are forced to continue juggling at home learning.

“It’s offensive to parents who are juggling their children’s daily at-home learning schedules with doing their own jobs and maintaining their sanity,” Mayor London Breed said earlier about the school board’s plan to rename the schools. “It’s offensive to me as someone who went to our public schools, who loves our public schools, and who knows how those years in the classroom are what lifted me out of poverty and into college. It’s offensive to our kids who are staring at screens day after day instead of learning and growing with their classmates and friends.”

People weighed in on the move and questioned whether this was what the School Board should be focusing on at this time:

Another, took to making jokes, but… considering who and what’s being canceled, it could be only a matter of time:

Even a Senator weighed in:

Dianne Feinstein And The Confederate Flag

Longtime Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein’s name is also being stripped from a school. The 87-year-old liberal California politician has been a mainstay in San Francisco politics for decades but she’s a persona non grata now for the School Board.

Removing Feinstein’s name stems from her days as the Mayor of San Francisco. The Confederate flag repeatedly flew at City Hall at that time. When Black activists removed it, she pushed for them to be prosecuted.

The San Francisco School Board is not concerned that she is a far-left Senator. They are canceling her and removing Feinstein’s name from the school.

Replacing the signage at the schools will cost the financially plagued school district around $400,000. To swap out uniforms with the new names could bring that total to $1 million. These are the priorities of the cash-strapped school board.

New school names will be chosen in April.

This isn’t the first time names of symbolic figures have been removed in San Francisco.

In 2019, school officials voted to cover a 1936 George Washington mural that some complained portrayed Black and indigenous people in a dehumanizing manner.
