It’s a hard time to be a Christian. It’s even harder to be a Christian in Hollywood, but former “Everybody Loves Raymond” star Patricia Heaton holds on tight to her faith and, even now amid the chaos, reminds us all of what’s important.
Christians are regularly under attack online and in the real world. Many Christians share their faith with others. Others hesitate to be so open.
Heaton is one of the few celebrities to share her faith openly and regularly on social media.
Witnessing your faith so publicly can invite online trolls to taunt, demean or even threaten as fellow Christian and “Fuller House” star Candace Cameron Bure was recently reminded.

Keyboard warriors are emboldened by anonymity and say things they wouldn’t say in person.
But this does not deter Heaton from her path.
The “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle” star explained how she balances this perfectly. She sets her eyes on the prize.
Christians focus should be on Jesus.
Following the madness of Wednesday’s storming of the Capitol and the broad stoke the media is painting on all conservatives, Heaton has words of wisdom for those feeling lost.
“If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to,” Heaton tweeted.
When someone replied that her words appeared to be detached when we should be doing God’s work, Heaton responded brilliantly.
“We are meant to serve Christ while we are here,” the Hollywood actress said.
This is not something you often hear from a television star. But, Heaton is true to herself and her beliefs.
As a “common sense person” she also has some issues with the political correctness police in this country, particularly Washington, DC.
When she learned that gender identifying words like ‘father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife, father-in-law, or mother-in-law” have been banned Congress, she had the same response as many of us.
“Wut,” Heaton said.
She had the same response when left leaning Salon complained that the anti-porn lobby is negatively affecting pornographers.
62-year-old Heaton realized long ago how important her faith is.
She described a situation in 2nd grade that led her to reflect on Jesus keeps her grounded.
The popular sitcom actress shares her story in hopes that it might inspire others, including young people, to follow Jesus.

She was in second grade when she began “talking trash” about a girl, whom she didn’t realize was sitting in the circle of girls she was addressing on the playground. After noticing the girl, she saw the look of shock and hurt on her face and felt ashamed.
“I knew then that I was not a good person. This girl never did anything to me. I realized then I was a sinful person. I realized that’s why Jesus died,” she recounted. Se went on to tell Adam Carolla, who is an atheist that ”God is perfect and you have to be perfected in order to exist with Him. We are not perfect. We all are born with this sort of disease and the cure for the disease is the blood of Christ.”
While some of us feel we have to hide in the shadows with our faith, Patricia Heaton is living her Christian faith openly.
