After being on the wrong side of one of Max Holloway’s greatest performances to date, Calvin Kattar has given the former featherweight champ, his due credit. Not only that, the rugged fighter is letting people know that he has no intention of quitting, following the one-sided loss.

Kattar gives “props” to Holloway in post-fight statement

If you watched UFC Fight Island 7 this past weekend, you know that Holloway put on a jaw-dropping, striking clinic against Kattar. The latter landed some thumping shots of his own, no question.

But, after 25 minutes of action, Holloway had outstruck him by a 447 to -134 margin. On account of that, the judges awarded the fight to Holloway by rarely seen scores, if ever, of 50-43, 50-43, 50-42.

Well, since then, Kattar has issued the classy statement below.

Success in life comes when you simply refuse to give up. With goals so strong that obstacles, failure and loss only act as motivation. Props to Max on a hell of a fight he deserves all the praise. Thankful for my team’s commitment for this fight. On to the next. There is no stopping the man who doesn’t quit.

Kattar’s next steps?

There’s no doubt Saturday’s defeat was a pivotal one for Kattar, as if he had won, he may have been tapped for a title shot later this year.

But, due to the loss, and because Kattar dropped a decision to Zabit Magomedsharipov in 2019, he’ll need to put together a bit of a run.

Kattar did showcase a ton of heart and toughness in the loss to Holloway; however, so, don’t be surprised if he’s booked for another, big stage fight next.

One would think, given how many shots he took in the loss, we won’t see Kattar fighting again anytime too soon.
