‘Breaking Bad’ Star Bryan Cranston Rips Cancel Culture – It’s Made Us ‘Less Tolerant, Less Forgiving’

Former “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston spoke out to torch cancel culture, arguing that it has hurt society because it made people “harder” and “less understanding.”

“Breaking Bad” Star Bryan Cranston Torches Cancel Culture, Promotes Forgiveness

“We live in this ‘cancel culture’ of people erring and doing wrong, either on purpose or by accident. And there’s less forgiveness in our world,” Cranston explained to the Associated Press.

“I think we’re unfortunately in a coarser environment. I think our societies have become harder and less understanding, less tolerant, less forgiving.”

“Where does forgiveness live in our society?” he questioned. “Where can we accept someone’s behavior if they are contrite, if they are apologetic, and take responsibility?”

Not stopping there, Cranston said that people should be “welcomed back in, as opposed to creating more fences. Creating more ‘you’re out, you’re in.’”

“I think we need to take a second look at that, and exhale, and realize that asking forgiveness and receiving forgiveness are not weaknesses but are human strengths,” he added.

“Cancel culture” has become a tool for the left, as it is often used to destroy the lives of people simply because they are conservative.

Don’t Root Against America Under Trump

Though Cranston is a liberal who campaigned against Donald Trump in the 2016 election, he had some choice words for his fellow leftists after he won, saying that they should not be hoping America fails on his watch.

“President Trump is not the person who I wanted to be in that office,” he told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “And I’ve been very open about that. That being said, he is the president. If he fails, the country is in jeopardy. It would be egotistical for anyone to say, ‘I hope he fails.’”

“To that person I would say, f— you,” he added. “Why would you want that? So you can be right?”

“We’ve got to get away from this idea that our country is political football, and someone with a different opinion is the enemy,” Cranston said. “Assume they love this country as much as you do, and there’s always room for improvement. How can we make it better?”

Bryan Cranston Attacks Trump Supporters

Before you make any judgements about Cranston’s political beliefs, however, he has also questioned the mental health of anyone who still supports Trump.

“What I now worry about is the sanity of anyone who can still support this deeply troubled man to lead our country,” Cranston tweeted last year.

Politically, this guy seems to be all over the place.

But one thing is for certain. We can certainly agree with Bryan Cranston’s views on cancel culture, which has gone way too far and needs to end immediately.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
