Rapper Dies Burglarizing Home When Window Slams Closed On His Neck

An aspiring rapper and father of five attempting to burglarize a Florida home was found dead after a window slammed down on his neck, killing Jonathan Hernandez. Now, his grieving family and friends are trying to clear his name and claim he was not breaking into the home.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, this appears to be a case of swift justice.

Jonathan Hernandez was attempting to gain access to a Lehigh, Florida home when his life quickly ended in brutal fashion. He learned a little too late that crime doesn’t pay.

Burglar Scaled Wall To Get Into Window That Crashed On His Neck

32-year-old Hernandez, who was a convicted felon with facial tattoos, was found Saturday morning hanging from the window.

The would-be burglar scaled a wall to to gain entry to the window that crashed down on his neck, killing him.

Hernandez’s right arm was at his side and his body was limp and dangled from the window when he was found. His head was still stuck in the window that was about 5 and a half feet off the ground.

“When Hernandez was trying to work his way through the window, it unexpectedly closed on top of him, pinning him and keeping him suspended in the air,” Sheriff spokesman Lt. Russell Park said.

Hernandez’s fiancee Jessica Duarte is crying foul at the accusation that he was breaking into the house when he was killed. She claims he was a kind man and was not a burglar. The father of five was an aspiring rapper whose stage name was Taz UFO.

“When I first met him, I was like man he looks like he has a rap sheet like El Chapo,” Duarte said. “And he’s the complete opposite of that. He’s the sweetest person you’d probably ever meet and has the biggest heart.”

Rapper Jonathan Hernandez Has A Rap Sheet

The Sheriff Department challenges the grieving women’s depiction of Hernandez saying his rap sheet tells a different story.

Lt. Park said Hernandez was “no stranger to law enforcement.” The dead man was also busted in 2014 “for his involvement in a murder case.”
