When Khabib Nurmagomedov weighed-in for UFC 254, and it was announced he was 155 pounds, the champion was visibly, super relieved. Well, in a new video his team has shared out, you can see why.
The undefeated star faced Justin Gaethje at the October 24th event, and Khabib recorded one of his most impressive wins to date. The vaunted wrestler pressured Gaethje throughout and choked out the feared striker in round two.
But, as the video below documents, Khabib’s weight cut wasn’t a smooth one. At one point the star notes he wasn’t sure he’d make weight.
After Khabib defeated Gaethje he announced he was retiring. The 29-0 fighter reported that after his father passed away earlier this year, he promised his mother it would be his final fight.
UFC President Dana White has said he believes Khabib might return to pursue the 30-0 mark. But, Nurmagomedov has said several times now, publicly, that he’s done fighting
