Dolly Parton Reveals Her Secret To Never Aging At 74 – ‘I’ll Never Get Old’

Country music icon Dolly Parton will be turning 75 in just two months, but you would never know it by her youthful looks and releasing both a new Christmas album and movie this year! In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton revealed her secret to never aging, and it’s a lot simpler than you would think it is.

Dolly Parton’s Secret To Not Aging

According to Parton, she hasn’t aged because she simply hasn’t had time to, given how she’s constantly been on the go her entire life.

“First of all, I ain’t never gonna be old because I ain’t got time to be old. I can’t stop long enough to grow old,” Parton said, according to People Magazine.

Parton is a firm believer that staying young is about attitude more than anything else. 

She explained:

“You gotta shine from within. Sometimes, that can make you feel young and make you seem young to other people.” 

When asked how she feels about turning a milestone age like 75, Parton replied, “I don’t think about my life in terms of numbers,” going on to add that she will “be the best I can be at whatever age.”

Dolly Parton Jokes About Plastic Surgery

Parton also showed that she still has her trademark sense of humor when she joked about her plastic surgeons as she discussed how she will look if she lives into her 90s. 

“I bet you I won’t look much different when I’m 95, if I live that long, because I’m like the Gabor sisters,” Parton said, referring to the Hungarian-born socialites. 

“I’m gonna look like a cartoon,” she said jokingly. “I’ll have on the makeup. I’ll look as young as my plastic surgeons will allow me and [with] all the makeup and lighting and all that.”

Parton has been open about her various surgeries in the past. At last count, the “Jolene singer” has had a brow lift, surgery on her eyelids, a nose job, breast augmentation, breast implants, and her chin operated on.

With all the work Dolly Parton puts into her appearance, she’s also happy to show it off.

Earlier this year, Parton shocked her fans by revealing a rather risqué wish for her 75th birthday. 

“I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again,” she told 60 Minutes Australia.

“See I did Playboy Magazine years ago and I thought it’d be such a hoot if they’ll go for it — I don’t know if they will — if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75.”

Dolly Parton’s New Christmas Album And Netflix Movie

These days, Dolly Parton is as busy as ever. The Tennessee native recently released her first Christmas album in decades.

She explained that she decided to do a Christmas album this year in particular because she thought people needed joy amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve been wanting to release a Christmas album for a while now because I just love Christmas,” Parton said. “This year became the perfect time to spread some extra joy.”

“I think the spirit of Christmas and what it truly means can spill out into our families and make this a better Christmas than ever;” she added. “Hopefully, ‘A Holly Dolly Christmas’ will make everyone feel holly and jolly this season.”

And the Grammy winner wasn’t done spreading Christmas cheer there.

Dolly Parton’s new Christmas musical, Christmas On The Square, comes out on Netflix November 22.

This cheerful flick stars Dolly Parton, Christine Baranski of “The Good Wife”, and Treat Williams of “Everwood.
