Cory Sandhagen ensured he remains in the title shot mix tonight at UFC Vegas 5, and he did so by taking out Marlon Moraes with a jaw-dropping technique.

Round one

Both bantamweights came out firing kicks and hooks. Moraes planted a hard calf kick a minute in and Sandhagen responded with one of his own. Sandhagen fired a flying knee that missed and Moraes missed with a headkick moments later. Moraes winged a heavy spinning backfist that Sandhagen blocked.

The steady volume of strikes continued and Sandhagen scored with a hard body kick. Sandhagen fired another body kick that Moraes caught, and countered with a TD.

Round two

Sandhagen continued to come with a variety of strikes in round two, and moments later, he could be heard say Moraes’ orbital bone was broke. Not long after, Sandhagen sent Moraes to the floor with a spinning heel hick and as he followed up with punches, the fight was stopped. Wow.

Sandhagen was competing for the first time since June, when he was quickly submitted by Aljamain Sterling,.
