If for some reason you’re not excited to see Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje throw down next Saturday at UFC 254, well, the pay-per-view opener may change your mind.
Gaethje earned the right to face the lightweight champ at UFC 254, by stopping Tony Ferguson this past May and winning the interim belt. The victory was Gaethje’s (22-2) four straight, and it was also the fourth time in a row he stopped his opponent.
Nurmagomedov (28-0), meanwhile, has yet to fight in 2020 as earlier this year he was stranded in Russia, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The renowned fighter hasn’t fought since last September, when he submitted Dustin Poirier.
Well, as you can see by watching the clip below, the pay-per-view opener reminds folks that Khabib is one of the most accomplished, dominant fighters in the game’s history. It also notes that Gaethje is one of the most dangerous lightweights in the sport.
Here is the complete line-up for UFC 254, which is going to take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi (line-up via MMA Mania).
