Karate Combat Week 3 Features Daniel Viveros Vs. Myrza-Bek Tebuev

The third week of Season 2 from Karate Combat goes down Sunday night live in YouTube.

In the main event, Daniel Viveros from Ecuador will battle Myrza-Bek Tebuev from Russia.

The card also features Calum Robb facing Franklin Mina and Vitalie Certan vs. Gabriel Cera.

“Myrza vs. Viveros: Two top talents from the 67 division going at it,” Karate Combat League President Adam S. Kovacs said. “Last time Myrza broke his forearm in the first round of the main event in Hollywood, but still managed to fight all three rounds. Viveros also did very well against Ilies Mardhi that night in Hollywood and some fans thought Viveros should have had the W.

“If one of these guys performs very well, he might end up challenging Edgar Skrivers for the golden belt.”

The Main Event led to Karate Combat’s first ever use of the Sudden Victory rule. After a grueling three rounds the judges were deadlocked so Ilies Mardhi and Pedro Roman Roig went at it for a wild fourth. Catch it here.

No contract: The qualifying match between Ireland’s Craig Ryan and Rita Boutadout of France wound up with neither getting the coveted multi-fight deal with the league. Even though Boutadout got the win when Ryan’s corner threw in the towel during round 2, he was penalized for having not made weight on time. Both fought well and, according to President Kovacs, “We are inviting them back with different opponents and we’re pretty sure they will grab that contract next time.”
