UFC Vegas 11: Donald Cerrone & Niko Price Battle to a Draw

Donald Cerrone ended a two-fight losing skid tonight at UFC Vegas 11, but “Cowboy” almost incurred another defeat at the hands of  Niko Price.

Round two

Price came with several kicks to begin round two, including several that were directed at Cerrone’s calf. Price dug a hard left to the body of Cerrone. “Cowboy” scored with a few jabs but Price continued to fire in strikes. Cerrone appeared to land with a spinning kick to the body.Later in the round, Price cracked Cerrone with a big left and he continued to provide more volume. Cerrone planted a thumping elbow to the head of Price in the final minute.

Round three

Price continued to fire in kicks to begin round three. Cerrone shot in not long into the frame but Price defended. A couple of minutes into the round, both men took accidental eyepokes. Not long after, Cerrone shot in and took Price down. In the ensuing scramble, Cerrone briefly worked from Price’s back. Cerrone scored with some shots late in the round and he threatened with another head kick. Both men flurried late in the frame, but neither were able to score with anything punishing.

The fight was declared a majority draw. So, if not for the eyepoke, point deduction, Price would have won.
