Round one

Woodley charged out to begin the fight and both men fired leg kicks. Not long after, however, Covington countered Woodley’s pressure with a perfectly timed takedown. Woodley got back to his feet not too long after, however, and then broke free.

Woodley fired a punch to the body but took a kick to his own. Covington fired in a hard right hook not long after and clinched up. Covington planted a couple of elbows from the clinch before the rounded.

Round two

Both men were relatively busy to begin the second frame. Covington attempted a flying knee, clinched up, and began working the body of Woodley. Moments later, Covington went for a TD but Woodley countered with one of his own. Covington got back to his feet and later in the round, Woodley dug a hard right to the body. Covington continued to pressure behind kicks and punches. Woodley scored with a right and Covington responded with a knee, before the round ended.

Round three

Both men winged heavy shots to begin the round, but Woodley took an eye poke shortly in. Covington continued to stay busy with kicks and he clinched up moments later. Covington controlled the action along the cage and fired in knees to the body and legs of Woodley.

Round four

Woodley planted a kick to the body not long in. Covington continued to pressure and started working for a takedown. Moments later, Covington dumped Woodley to the floor. Covington landed an elbow from the top, and stayed busy with punches to the body of Woodley. The latter was cut open by his right eye. Covington continued to fire down shots from above.

Dominant round for Covington.

Round five

Woodley needs a stoppage to win this fight. Covington pressured to begin the round again. Covington shot in but Woodley defended at first, but “Chaos” succeeded with his second attempt. Moments later, Woodley began screaming, sounded like something about his rib, and the fight was stopped.
