Darren Stewart returned to the win column in memorable fashion tonight, as the hard-hitting middleweight tapped out Maki Pitolo at UFC Vegas 6.
Both middleweights came out winging big shots and Stewart pressed forward. The middleweights largely stuck with punches in the opening couple of minutes and Pitolo planted a couple of hard rights. Pitolo missed with a spinning backfist, but followed up with a takedown attempt. Stewart, however, countered beautifully with a guillotine choke.
Pitolo tried working his way, but eventually he was forced to tap. Memorable win for ‘The Dentist’.
The British middleweight was coming off a decision loss to Bartosz Fabinski in March.
