UFC 252: Jairzinho Rozenstruik Puts Away Junior Dos Santos

Jairzinho Rozenstruik ensured he remains in the title shot mix tonight, as the noted kickboxer put away former heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos at UFC 252.

Round one

Both men were tentative to begin the fight as they tried to get their reads. Dos Santos went to the body a couple of times with punches and Rozenstruik countered with inside leg kicks. Rozenstruik just missed with a huge right counter a couple of minutes in. JDS fired a massive overhand right that grazed Rozenstruik.

Late in the round, Rozenstruik caught a kick from JDS and tossed in some hard counters. Right before the round ended, JDS took a kick low and the action was stopped momentarily. Dos Santos spun with a kick right before the horn sounded.

Round two

Rozenstruik flurried in not long into the round and he continued to plant inside leg kicks. JDS fired in a right that was just short of having a major impact. JDS  scored with a hard right mid round and Rozenstruik just missed with a pounding right moments later.

Moments later, Rozenstruik sent “Cigano” to the deck with a huge right hand. As JDS tried to get back to his feet, he was sent back down with a series of huge shots and the fight was stopped. Massive win for Rozenstruik.

“Bigi Boy” was fighting for the first time since he was quickly knocked out by Francis Ngannou in May.
