Country Music Singer Kacey Musgraves Warns Fans Against Voting For Trump

Grammy award winner Kacey Musgraves just took to Twitter to say that voting for President Donald Trump “is an act of violence” against members of the LGBTQ community. She said this despite Trump’s strong record of promoting LGBTQ people in both his administration and in the courts.

Musgraves’ Tweet

“If you love an LGBTQ+ person and you’re planning on voting for Donald Trump in November, that’s an act of violence against them,” Musgraves’ message read.

“To each his own but know what your vote means,” the singer captioned the tweet.

Musgraves Is One Of The Most Liberal Country Music Stars

Musgraves has long been open about being one of the furthest left performers on the country music scene. She regularly attacks the Second Amendment on her social media pages, and has indicated that she would be supportive of a ban on guns.

Last year, she took to Twitter to use the mass shooting in Odessa, Texas to attack Republicans.

“I love you, TX,” Musgraves wrote. “I can’t believe we all are being forced to live in a constant state of fear. 2nd mass shooting in my home state in a month? Makes me sick to my stomach. When will we live in a world where human lives mean more than money?”

Trump Isn’t Actually Anti-LGBT

While it’s common for leftists like Musgraves to claim that President Trump is anti-LGBTQ, it is just not true. In June, Trump called on leaders from around the world to join him in supporting the decriminalization of homosexuality in countries where it is currently a crime to be gay.

“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and recognize the outstanding contributions that LGBT people have made to our great Nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,” Trump said at the time. “My Administration has launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality and invites all nations to join us in this effort!”

When Trump nominated Richard Grennell as Ambassador to Germany, he became the first president to ever appoint an openly gay man to this type of position. In a recent campaign ad made by the Log Cabin Republicans, Grennell described Trump as “the strongest ally that gay Americans have ever had in the White House.”

“The fact that I’m gay didn’t even faze Donald Trump,” he added, according to The New York Post.

Some folks disagreed with Musgraves’ comment:

Liberals like Musgraves love to shame minorities into voting Democrat with false comments like the one she made about a vote for Trump being an “act of violence” against the LGBTQ community.

She should probably realize that gay people have minds of their own. They don’t need to vote a certain direction simply because of their sexuality.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
