The return of Bellator MMA marked a big night for Sergio Pettis.
Pettis, the younger brother of former UFC champion Anthony Pettis, claimed a main event victory over Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 242 Friday night.
After months off due to the coronavirus, Bellator returned with a shortened card. The main card aired live on Paramount Network and streamed on DAZN, while prelims streamed live on the Bellator YouTube page.

Pettis swept all three scorecards from all three judges to improve to 20-5 overall. The loss dropped Bandejas to 13-4 in his career.
In the co-main event, Jason Jackson claimed a decision over Jordan Mein. Jackson, now 12-4, also swept all three rounds on all three scorecards.
Jay Jay Wilson remained unbeaten, claiming a split decision over Tywan Claxton.
In the main card opener, top prospect Aaron Pico submitted Solo Hatley Jr. in just 2:10, locking in a rear-naked choke.
