In the world of Lethwei, there is one King of the Knockout and his name is Antonio Faria.
Faria, who competes in the lightweight division, is regarded as the top fighter in his weight class. He also holds the crown of being a Portugal national champion.
A 31-year-old, Faria has experienced nothing but highlight-reel moments while competing for the World Lethwei Championship.
Back in February of 2019 at WLC 7: Mighty Warriors, Faria showed that his power will translate to any weight class.
He moved up t light welterweight to face off with the recently-crowned Light Welterweight Myanmar National Champion Saw Htoo Aung in the first WLC event to stream on UFC Fight Pass.
From inside the Mandalar Thiri Indoor Stadium in Mandalay, Myanmar, Faria stunned his opponent early and often, finishing him in the second round to claim the WLC Light Welterweight World Championship.
In his debut with WLC, Faria delighted the fans at WLC 5: Knockout War on June 2, 2018.
From the Wunna Theikdi Indoor Stadium in Naypitaw, Myanmar, Faria finished Mite Yine, forcing the doctor to stop the bout after three rounds.
Just a few months later that year, Faria scored a third round knockout of Nguyen Tang Quyen at WLC 6: Heartless Tigers on September 29 from the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.
That event was an interesting one and foretold the future as Saw Htoo Aung won his belt that night with a first round knockout of Kyaw Zin Latt.
