For unbeaten Sean O’Malley, main event billing is in his future.
He just wants it even sooner.
O’Malley told reporters following his first round knockout of Eddie Wineland Saturday night at UFC 250 that he believes bigger and brighter things are in his future.
“A main event sounds right,” O’Malley said (thanks to Adam Hill for the quotes). “That feels like something that should probably be done.”
The 25-year-old O’Malley kicked off the pay-per-view main card from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas with his 12th win in 12 pro fights.
After finishing Jose Alberto Quinonez this past March, O’Malley made even quicker work out of the veteran Wineland. The win was his eighth via knockout and third under the UFC banner along with a win on Dana White’s Contender Series.
“What I’m asking for is still less than what a lot of these guys made tonight,” he said. “It sucks I have to bring it up and it has to be about money. I just want to get paid what I feel I’m worth.”
