Jimmy Kimmel Causes More Problems For Himself With Weak Apology

Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel finally ponied up an apology for his years of wearing blackface and saying the n-word in comedy sketches.

Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel finally apologized for his years of wearing blackface and saying the n-word today after ignoring the racist scandals for decades. However, his apology came in the form of a blistering statement in which he first attacked anyone who might use these instances of racially driven comedy against him.

Jimmy Kimmel’s Blackface Apology

Fox News reported that Kimmel’s statement began:

“I have long been reluctant to address this, as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness and cheer for leaders who use prejudice to divide us. That delay was a mistake. There is nothing more important to me than your respect, and I apologize to those who were genuinely hurt or offended by the makeup I wore or the words I spoke.”

Of course, the late night host prioritized agitprop ahead of any actual apology. He’s certainly not one to miss a chance to sling mud.

Kimmel had long been under fire for wearing blackface multiple times on “The Man Show” in the early 2000s. He used it to impersonate prominent African Americans like NBA star Karl Malone and Oprah Winfrey.

So why apologize now? The Twitter mob has been hot on his tail ever since the “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host announced a summer show hiatus.

And the keyboard warriors dug up one skeleton that Kimmel couldn’t ignore.

Jimmy Kimmel Caught Saying The N-Word

This week, a 1996 Christmas album surfaced in which Kimmel said the n-word as he imitated the rapper Snoop Dogg.

He was saying things like “fat n—- in a sleigh giving sh— away,” referring to Santa Claus. He also sang about “n—– in the manger,” referring to King Herod’s associates.

Kimmel attempted to address these incidents in today’s apology:

“We hired makeup artists to make me look as much like Karl Malone as possible. I never considered that this might be seen as anything other than an imitation of a fellow human being, one that had no more to do with Karl’s skin color than it did his bulging muscles and bald head. I’ve done dozens of impressions of famous people, including Snoop Dogg, Oprah, Eminem, Dick Vitale, Rosie, and many others. In each case, I thought of them as impersonations of celebrities and nothing more.”

“Looking back, many of these sketches are embarrassing, and it is frustrating that these thoughtless moments have become a weapon used by some to diminish my criticisms of social and other injustices,”

He Won’t Be ‘Bullied Into Silence’

Despite the fact that Kimmel is one of the strongest proponents of the leftwing “cancel culture,” he feels that he deserves a second chance because “anyone who watches” his show knows that he’s evolved.

This tweet is succinct and on point:

“I know that this will not be the last I hear of this and that it will be used again to try to quiet me. I love this country too much to allow that,” Kimmel added. “I won’t be bullied into silence by those who feign outrage to advance their oppressive and genuinely racist agendas.”

“Thank you for giving me an opportunity to explain and to those I’ve disappointed, I am sorry,” he concluded.

Kimmel conveniently and abruptly announced last week that he would be going on hiatus for the summer. He claimed that nothing is wrong and that he simply wants to spend more time with his family.

He has already been tapped to host the Emmys later this year. There’s no word yet on whether these scandals will cost him that gig.

Given the fact that Kimmel has been such a strong supporter of cancel culture, it would be the height of hypocrisy if he were not “cancelled” himself now that his long list of racist infractions has been exposed to the world.

However, since that the entertainment industry is run by shameless liberals, don’t be surprised if Jimmy Kimmel never ends up facing any sort of punishment for his actions.
